St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Preschool in Tomah, Wisconsin, is starting a Summer Program for children ages 3-5. The program will run 11 weeks, from June 5 – August 18. To help staff this program, St. Paul Lutheran Preschool is looking to hire an Afternoon Lead Teacher with a passion for sharing Christ’s love with young children and experience managing a classroom of preschool children. Hours of work are from 11:00 AM until 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Starting pay is $10.00/hour, with wage being determined during hire. Housing is available. St. Paul Preschool Summer Program – Afternoon Lead Teacher
Qualifications
A. Member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or another WELS church
B. Age 18 years or older
C. High school diploma or GED required
D. At least 6 months experience in a classroom or child care setting preferred
E. Displays a love for our Savior and sharing the message of salvation
F. Love and patience for working with children ages 3-5
G. Able to manage and run an early childhood classroom
H. Able to plan and carry through lessons and activities
I. Musical ability to lead children in song
J. In good health – able to physically keep up with young children and interact at their level

Position
This is a summer position running 11 weeks (June 5-August 18) reviewed annually by the
Ministry of Education.
Times
The Afternoon Lead Teacher works Mondays through Fridays from 11:00 AM until 5:30
PM, or until all children have been picked up and cleaning duties have been completed. The
Afternoon Lead Teacher may also be asked to fill in as a substitute from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM in
the event that the Morning Lead Teacher is gone. The Lead Teacher position is an hourly
employment position.
Duties
A. Advance the ministry of early childhood in line with God’s Word
B. Be responsible for children’s learning and safety
C. Plan and lead activities appropriate for preschool children
D. Follow the routines and management plans set up by the Director of the program
E. Apply Law and Gospel correctly when disciplining children
F. Keep the classroom clean and orderly
G. Supervise and interact with children during lunch and snack times
H. Communicate with families at the end of the day during pick-up times
I. Work in partnership with a Teacher Aide
J. Maintain open and consistent communication with the Director of the program
K. Perform other duties as assigned
